The OPS optical programming system Configuration:

The OPS optical programming system can be used especially to program vehicles from E65 as it allows, in addition to vehicle access via the OBD II interface, access to the MOST bus. Reference systems for the programming times of the E60 Series are exclusively the OPPS and OPS systems in association with DISplus, GT1 and the Software Service Station. There is no difference in the programming times when using the OPPS or OPS as the vehicle interface.

The optical programming system (OPS) for programming vehicles is handled in exactly the same way as the OPPS. The connection is effected simultaneously to the OBD II socket and also to the MOST fibre-optic access in the vehicle. The connection to the workshop network is effected via network cable to a free network connection. Like the OPPS, the OPS does not have an air interface, as the high bandwidth required for programming can currently only be achieved by means of a cable connection.
